JUSTIN — One person was killed and two others were injured Monday evening in an accident near Northwest High School in Justin.

Students were involved, the school district confirmed.  Northwest ISD declined to release the names of the victims.

MedStar reported that one was killed and another was rushed to Texas Health Fort Worth Hospital in critical condition.  Ice was beginning to form on area roads and highways around 5:30 p.m. in the area.

A third person was taken to the Texas Health Fort Worth with minor injuries.

There was a lot of activity at the school on Tuesday evening, including basketball games and practices.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, with the Texas Department of Safety taking the lead in the case.

Northwest ISD said counselors would be on campus this week to help students.

Tuesday classes were canceled because of the icy weather.
