Weather permitting, Sunday should be the final night for aerial spraying to control the mosquitoes that spread West Nile virus in North Texas.
About 100,000 acres in Denton County will be getting a second round of spraying, including Sanger and areas to the north near Lake Ray Roberts; Flower Mound, Trophy Club, parts of Lewisville and other cities to the south [SEE MAP].
Aircraft are expected to begin operations around 9 p.m. Sunday and will be finished before dawn Monday.
State health officials say 40 Texans have died so far in the nation's worst-ever outbreak of West Nile virus.
Dallas County reports the most cases in the state with 322, but Denton County health officials said the outbreak was most severe there based on a per-capita infection rate.
