If you live in Denton County, you may have seen a weak tornado on Saturday afternoon.

It's called a "landspout," and it was only on the ground for about five or six minutes. While it is technically a tornado, a landspout typically does not cause serious damage.

These are not all that uncommon in tropical air masses such as we had over North Texas on Saturday, and as the name implies, they are like waterspouts... except they materialize on land.
