DALLAS — Men walked in heels at Preston Center in Dallas Saturday to raise awareness of a serious issue.
It was the second annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence, sponsored by the Dallas County Sexual Assault Coalition.
In Texas, one in five women is a victim of sexual assault, so some men went the distance in discomfort wearing plus-size high heeled shoes.
They had the help and support of women who gave them a quick stiletto strut lesson before their one-mile walk, which is the coalition's primary fundraising event.
