DALLAS — Dallas Fire-Rescue is looking into the cause of a deadly blaze Wednesday afternoon.

The fire happened at Evis Jackson’s home in the 8900 block of Anglecrest Drive in Southeast Dallas. Family members confirmed to News 8 that the 51-year-old died from her injuries.

When firefighters arrived at the home around 4 p.m., they saw flames shooting out of the front room of the one-story house. As they were dealing with that, they found Jackson inside and unresponsive.

Crews pulled her out and transported her to a nearby Dallas hospital.

Jackson lived with her family, but she was the only one home at the time of the incident. According to investigators, four dogs also died in the fire.
