DALLAS — Dallas police said two officers were injured Tuesday afternoon while trying to apprehend a family violence suspect near Southwest Center Mall.
A woman alerted police to the suspect in the 3900 block of Investor Drive shortly before 2 p.m. After officers pulled over the vehicle described by the witness, the driver hit one officer and then smashed out a window in his own SUV, police said.
The suspect then began driving away when he was approached by additional police on Westmoreland Road.
As officers placed him under arrest, he hit one of them in the nose.
The two officers were taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center for treatment; and their injuries were not life-threatening, a police statement said.
The suspect was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in stable condition; charges are pending.
No names were released.
