MESQUITE — Lisa Stone disappeared in Dallas three years ago this week, but her family and friends are keeping the faith that she will one day be found alive.
Stone's loved ones gathered for a prayer vigil Sunday at City Lake Park in Mesquite. They do not want the police or the public to stop looking for her.
The 54-year-old was last seen at her Dallas home on June 5, 2010.
Stone had worked at The Dallas Morning News until 2005, but was unemployed when she disappeared. Friend Tina Wiley-Stringer said times were tough for her.
"We're always asked why are we doing this for Lisa? You'd have to know Lisa to understand," Wiley-Stringer said. "No matter how bad things got, she was an amazing friend. She was loyal to a fault; she couldn't turn her back on friends."
No arrests have ever been made in connection with Stone's disappearance.
