Northwest Dallas Aggravated Robbery
DALLAS –– Dallas police arrested a pair of suspects who are accused of critically wounding a man Monday night during a robbery when he said he had nothing to offer.
At 11:40 p.m. Monday, police say two men approached Christopher Hagan in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 11100 block of Walnut Hill Lane. The two demanded property from Hagan, who said he had nothing to give them.
Senior Cpl. Sherri Jeffrey, a department spokeswoman, said the two men shot Hagan, 39, and fled in a gray Oldsmobile Alero. They were soon identified as LaDavid Sims, 19, and Michael Wafer, 25.
Officers attempted to stop it in the 10800 block of Walnut Hill, but the driver refused to pull over. Police pursued, eventually stopping the two about a mile away in the 9700 block of Ferndale Ave.
Sims and Wafer were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest. Hagan was taken to Baylor Hospital, where he is recovering on Tuesday.
Jeffrey said the suspects’ vehicle was stolen in an aggravated robbery earlier that night. Sims has a previous criminal history that includes trespassing, county records show. Wafer, meanwhile, is also being held on a family violence charge and has past convictions for assault, burglary of a vehicle and evading arrest.
