DALLAS - The driver of a car traveling the wrong way on Illinois Avenue Friday afternoon was killed and four others were wounded when the driver stuck another vehicle head on.
At 4:30 p.m., a male motorist was driving his 2008 Ford Focus eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic in the 1900 block of Illinois Ave. The driver collided with a black SUV occupied by two adult females and two minor children traveling westbound.
The 35-year-old driver of the Focus died at the scene. All occupants of the SUV were transported to local hospitals, and their conditions are unknown, but their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
No identities of those in the crash have been released.
The investigation to determine if there were any other contributing factors to the accident is ongoing.
