A Mexican newspaper says a North Texas truck driver imprisoned in Mexico will be released — but there's a condition.

The El Norte newspaper said Jabin Bogan of Irving will be set free if he pays a $1,500 fine.

Bogan was accused of illegally entering Mexico with a truckload of ammunition last April. He said he got lost and was making a U-turn back to the U.S. when Mexican border officials found the ammo in his truck.

In August, the original charge against Bogan was reduced from trafficking to possession.

It is not yet clear when Bogan will return to North Texas.
