DALLAS — The North Texas Food Bank is opening a new headquarters in downtown Dallas.
The non-profit group is moving its administrative offices to the Dallas Farmers Marker. Renovations are just under way, so workers won't be on site until March of next year.
Jan Pruitt, the president and CEO of the food bank, said the new location will better highlight community needs.
"We have friends that don't know about the North Texas food operation, and we believe being in the heart of the Dallas Farmers Market — the new residents to downtown, and the people that work downtown that may not know the food bank exists — will find out about us."
The food bank will maintain its current operation in southern Dallas. The new headquarters will serve as a hub for donations and volunteers.
