DALLAS — A man breaking into a South Dallas house was killed Monday after encountering an armed homeowner.
Police said 33-year-old Deyfon Pipkins was shot after entering the residence in the 2200 block of Morrell Avenue around 4:30 p.m.
The homeowner was not charged, but the facts of the case will be presented to a grand jury for review.
Pipkins' mother showed up at the crime scene wanting to see her son, only to learn he had been killed.
Pipkins has a criminal record; his mother told News 8 she wasn't surprised about his fate.
