GRAND PRAIRIE — Two people escaped with their lives late Friday night after their helicopter crashed during a training flight at Grand Prairie Municipal Airport.
Grand Prairie police told the FAA that the pilot reported an injury, but no further information was available on Saturday morning.
The Eurocopter AS 350 helicopter came down on its side in a grassy area south of a runway around 10 p.m. Friday.
There were medical markings on the fuselage of the 14-year-old aircraft, which is registered to CFS Air LLC in Danbury, Connecticut.
The FAA is investigating the cause of the crash.
