Grand Prairie police looking for homeless man in murder case

Police are searching for a homeless man who they believed fatally stabbed another man in the early hours of Wednesday. Based on evidence collected at the scene and backed up by witness statements, police issued an arrest warrant for Billy Wayne Jarret, 55.

GRAND PRAIRIE -- Police are searching for a homeless man who they believed fatally stabbed another man in the early hours of Wednesday.

At about 1:10 a.m., Grand Prairie police were called to a possible stabbing in the 1500 block of N. Beltline Road, where they found a man lying unresponsive in the road with a stab wound to the chest.

The victim was rushed to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The victim's name and identity have not been released.

Based on evidence collected at the scene and backed up by witness statements, police issued an arrest warrant for Billy Wayne Jarret, 55.

The murder suspect is described as 5-foot-9, 180 lbs., with brown hair, blue eyes, and a reddish beard. He is believed to be homeless and frequents the area where the victim was found.
