IRVING — Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck is taking an even bigger bite out of the North Texas media scene.

His company, Mercury Radio Arts, has purchased The Studios at Las Colinas in Irving, with three main stages, outdoor shooting locations and office space.

The facility has produced movies and TV shows including "Robocop," "JFK" and "Walker, Texas Ranger."

It will now serve as the flagship facility for Beck's TheBlaze TV network. It had already been producing six hours of live programming every day from Irving while renting space.

"We are proud to call Texas our home and be part of the local community in Irving," Beck said in a written statement. "We are building a world-class facility that provides TheBlaze with the highest quality talent and top of the line production capabilities so American stories can be told to viewers across the country."
