DALLAS — Family and friends paid final respects Saturday to a man who was killed Thursday on LBJ Freeway.

Witnesses say Pramod Paul was struck after he got out of his car that had been involved in an accident.

The driver of the car that hit Paul was a good friend of his.

There are still so many questions about the accident that happened early Thursday morning, but what is known is tough to bear.

"He's the most loving and caring person I knew in my life," said family member Jeffrey George.  "Everything I needed, he was right there."

Family members said Paul came to the U.S. roughly 10 years ago. He came for opportunity; he came for his family.

"He was just loved by people that he worked with, loved by people at church," said friend Fini Thomas.

Picture after picture projected on the wall at the memorial showed a man who friends called a devout man.

Friends said Paul was returning home from work on Thursday, and got into an accident with another car in the dangerous construction zone on LBJ.

Friends said Paul likely called his good friend Jerry Abraham for help, and witnesses said it was Abraham's that struck and killed Paul. Abraham is now facing intoxication manslaughter charges.

"As tragic as this is, there's just nothing that we can take back now," Jeffrey George said. "We're going to have to move forward, and we're going to be there for both families."

Saturday's wake was well-attended, and that didn't surprise anyone — including the victim's brother, Arun George. "How he interacts with people, and how he's given to the community... that's what we're going to remember about him," he said.

At last report, Abraham was at Parkland Memorial Hospital being treated for injuries he suffered in Thursday's crash.
