DALLAS — One person was killed early Sunday morning when a pickup truck crashed into an 18-wheeler in Southeast Dallas.
Police said the tractor-trailer was being towed in the northbound lanes of Prairie Creek Road north of Military Parkway around 2 a.m. when it stopped at a railroad crossing as a train passed.
The driver of the tow truck said he saw the 1992 Chevy Silverado pickup truck in his rear-view mirror veering to the left before it struck the back of the big rig.
The pickup truck was wedged underneath the trailer and its driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said it appeared that the pickup was speeding above the 40 mph limit before the crash.
The name of the victim has not been released.
