SEAGOVILLE -- The man who escaped custody over the weekend while being moved from Terrell State Hospital has been captured and is being transported to Lew Sterrett Justice Center, according to Carmen Castro with the Dallas County Sheriff's Department.

Leslie Ellison, 32, was taken into custody by Dallas County Sheriff's Deputies Wednesday just after noon at the Seagoville Inn off of Highway 175 and Beltline Road. He was with a woman in a room at the motel and had barricaded himself in the bathroom when deputies arrived.

The sheriff's department initially said he was found at a Best Western.

Authorities launched a manhunt for Ellison Tuesday after they chased him into a wooded area in the Combine area in southern Dallas County.

Ellison has an extensive criminal record and escaped while he was being transported for medical attention after swallowing batteries.
