The Dallas Police Department has released a sketch of a man suspected of bashing a 38-year-old woman above her eye during an attempted robbery on March 6.

At 9:10 a.m. that Wednesday, the victim was inside a vacant apartment in the 7800 block of River Fall Drive in North Dallas "noting discrepancies" when the suspect entered clutching a black automatic handgun, according to a police report. The man said "Where's your money," to which the victim replied that she didn't have any, noting the apartment was vacant.

The man then hit her above her left eye and fled, leaving the victim bleeding on the floor of the apartment. The man is in his 30s, weighs 200 pounds and is about six feet tall. At the time of the crime he was in a blue hoodie, sagging blue jeans and dark gloves. And, as Dallas Police Department spokeswoman Sherri Jeffrey notes, the man "has distinctive gaps in his teeth."

The victim received treatment at Plano Presbyterian Hospital, where investigators spoke with her and took pictures of her wounds for evidence, the incident report says.

Anyone who can help identify this man is asked to call Det. Angela Nordyke at 214.671.3638 or Crime Stoppers at 214.373.TIPS.
