Dallas police search for purse-snatching suspect who threw down elderly woman

DALLAS — Police are looking for a suspect who stole a purse from an 80-year-old woman in a Walmart parking lot, then threw the victim to the ground before fleeing in a Mercedes Benz.

The incident occurred on Thursday, December 20 at approximately 11:35 a.m. in the parking lot of a Walmart in the 7400 block of Samuell Boulevard.

In video of the incident released by Dallas police, the suspect approaches the victim from behind and grabs the woman's purse before whipping her to the ground. The suspect then climbs into a black, older-model Mercedes Benz while another shopper comes along to aid the victim.

The suspect backs up, then drives around the woman and the other shopper and speeds out of the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a black female, believed to be about 30 years old, 5'-5", 130 pounds. She is seen in the video wearing a red hoodie, blue jeans, a plaid shirt and white snow boots.

The victim refused medical treatment.
