DALLAS – A dive team with the Dallas Police Department was called to White Rock Lake Thursday morning to retrieve a car submerged in the water.
Authorities were called to the scene around 9:15 a.m. The red car's roof was visible and sitting about 50 feet from the shoreline. By noon Thursday, it was still unclear what kind of car was submerged or how it ended up in the water.
Crews were trying to confirm whether or not the car is empty. On Tuesday, police found a woman's body floating in the lake. A police officer on the scene said it is unlikely that two incidents are related.
White Rock Lake is set to host a marathon and half marathon this weekend.
