DALLAS -- Dallas Fire-Rescue brought a three-alarm blaze at an apartment complex near White Rock Lake under control by 9:35 p.m. Friday.

DFR spokesman Jason Evans said firefighters responded to the fire at the Winstead Apartments in the 2200 block of Winstead Drive at 8:30 p.m.

Evans said responding companies reported lots of fire coming out of the third floor of the three-story complex, and that crews were fighting the flames from both outside the building and within.

Thirty units at the complex were impacted and about 40 residents will need assistance from the American Red Cross.

There have been no reported injuries.

Evans said the fire is believed to have been accidental, but remains under investigation.
