DALLAS — There has been more legal wrangling in the attempt by Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price to get cash seized by federal agents returned to him.
Price's attorney filed a motion on Tuesday saying the government is guilty of hypocrisy.
The FBI seized about $230,000 in cash during a raid in June, 2011.
Price's attorney said the forfeiture lawsuit is nothing but a sham or a ruse to secure evidence in an ongoing criminal investigation of the commissioner.
The government's lawsuit claims Price committed bribery and money-laundering, accusations Price has denied.
The commissioner has not been charged with any crime.
