A two-year-old girl was seriously injured late Tuesday afternoon after being accidentally run over by a family member, Balch Springs police said.

Police said the girl's family was moving furniture out of a home in the 2700 block of Beach when the toddler wandered out of an open door and into the path of the vehicle around 4:30 p.m.

The girl was airlifted to Children's Medical Center of Dallas for treatment; her name and condition were not released.

The 125000 block of Elam Road was closed to traffic for a short time to accommodate the landing of the medical helicopter.
