GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (AP) — Emergency officials say two guests at a Dallas-area suites hotel have been treated for non-life threatening injuries following a fire traced to a corner room.
Grand Prairie firefighters early Monday responded to the blaze at a Budget Suites of America. Authorities are trying to determine what sparked the fire in a downstairs room.
Fire Chief Robert Fite says one elderly woman suffered smoke inhalation and was stable after being transported to a hospital. Fite says a second elderly woman was treated at the scene for stress-related issues and she did not require hospitalization.
The rest of the guests at the three-story complex were safely evacuated.
