Dallas police: Robbery suspect, victim killed in exchange of gunfire

DALLAS - Police said two men were killed when they fired upon one another late Thursday night at a Dallas apartment complex.

According to police, Kenny Curtron, 28, was walking with a friend in the complex's courtyard located in the 3200 block of Persimmon Rd. when Jarmell Thornton, 24, approached the men and demanded money. In the midst of the attempted robbery, Curtron and Thornton exchanged gunfire and were found injured at the scene by responding officers at about 11:47 p.m. Thursday.

The men were transported to Baylor Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
