Police: Dallas homeowner shoots, kills intruder

DALLAS — A Dallas homeowner shot and killed one of two intruders early Tuesday morning at his residence, said Dallas police in a statement released later in the morning.

According to Carlos Almeida, a spokesman with Dallas police, the unnamed homeowner said he fired the fatal shot as the two men attempted to break into his house in the 2600 block of Lakeland Drive.

The shot suspect was transported to Baylor Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The other suspect fled the scene. Police haven't released the identities of the homeowner or the deceased suspect.

Dallas police are investigating the incident.
