WYLIE – The Wylie teenager accused of murdering a fellow student will not be tried as an adult.
A state district judge made the ruling Thursday morning. The teen, who we’ve chosen not to identify, will be tried in juvenile court, where he has a chance of rehabilitation.
The 15-year-old is accused of shooting Nahum Martinez, 15, in the head at close range. Investigators say he and another boy involved wrapped Martinez’s body in a comforter, pushed it out a second-story window and tried to stuff it down a storm drain.
The teen will face a murder charge.
