A  teacher at Sachse High School resigned last week after Garland ISD and police started looking into allegations of an improper relationship with a female student.

The Sachse Police Department told News 8 on Sunday that the man in question is not facing any charges at the moment because the case has "not risen to a criminal level,"  but there is an ongoing investigation.

"We placed the teacher on paid administrative leave Tuesday after receiving the report of the allegations," said Garland ISD spokesman Chris Moore. "He resigned on Wednesday when he came in for an interview with officials."

According to Moore, another teacher had concerns after witnessing "improper behavior" and notified the school's principal. The school then shared that information with the district.

The teacher was hired by Garland ISD in August 2010.

The district has submitted its investigation to the Texas Education Agency.
