McKINNEY — Colleagues struggled Saturday to recall memories of a friend and fellow McKinney police Officer John Libby, who was killed in a motorcycle accident earlier this week.

During Libby's funeral at the Family Worship Center, Officer Ron Alexander told mourners that Libby's happiest times were spent talking about his daughter.

"He loved you, Adriana, so much," Alexander said. "You were the twinkle in his eye, I promise you that."

Officer Libby, 41, died when his motorcycle hit a sports utility vehicle at the corner of Custer Road and Cotton Ridge Road South in Frisco on Monday.

Friends and family members reminisced about an eternal optimist who had a penchant for practical jokes.

The John Libby Memorial Fund has been established for the officer's family. Donations will be accepted at any Wells Fargo bank branch.
