Tax hikes and a city council race were on the ballots in three North Texas communities on Saturday.
In Tarrant County, voters in Carroll ISD voted against an ad valorem tax rate increase, with 59 percent opposed to the proposal.
In Denton County, however, voters in the Argyle ISD approved an ad valorem tax increase by an overwhelming 77 percent. That means an extra $71 a year for the average homeowner.
And in Prosper, Kelly Cooper was elected as City Council member in Place One with 49 percent of the votes.
