FRISCO — Frisco firefighters said a car parked in a driveway caught fire early Sunday morning, and the flames spread to an adjacent home.
A passerby called 911 after spotting the fire at 4:06 a.m. at the two-story residence in the 11000 block of Huntington Road.
"When the vehicle caught fire, flames spread to the eaves of the house and into the home's two attics," said Assistant Fire Chief Lee Glover in a written statement. "The damage to the home is heavy."
The occupants of the residence, who were sleeping when the fire broke out, escaped without injury. They told investigators that the burning car had recently been involved in an accident.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, but officials said it did not appear to be suspicious.
No damage estimate was available.
