DALLAS — There was a Bonnie and Clyde connection to a ceremony in Dallas on Wednesday.

Deputy Nikolas Tresp was kidnapped by Harvey Bailey 79 years ago. Bailey was a running buddy of the notorious criminal duo.

The deputy was abducted and forced to drive to Oklahoma.

"Our family was fortunate that no one was hurt during the kidnapping of Uncle Ned, and that he returned to Dallas safely," said Tresp's great niece Brenda Riser. "We were blessed to have him with us for another 23 years until his death in November, 1956."

Riser recently found Tresp's badge, and decided to donate it to the Dallas County Sheriff's Department, where it will be on display in the sheriff's office.
