Hopefully you've had a teacher like Mr. Michael Parker.

The W.T. White High School choir director will retire at the end of the school year. He's been with Dallas ISD since 1975.

"Mr. Parker's saved a lot of souls," one coworker told us, "and probably taught them something along the way."

He'll get a pretty cool send off from his students. Wednesday night, he'll have his final concert at the Myerson Symphony Center.

He joined us live from W.T. White on News 8 at 4 to tell us about the honor.

If you're interested in attending, "Mr. Parker's Opus" starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets are available at W.T. White, $7 for adults and $5 for students.
