ARLINGTON — Two people were seriously injured just before 7 o'clock Tuesday night in a three-alarm fire at the Cedar Bend apartments in Arlington.

The fire was contained to the second floor of a building at the complex in the 2500 block of Ridge Oak Lane, and was quickly controlled by firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

About 30 minutes later, and just a few blocks away, Arlington firefighters battled another blaze at the Southern Hills apartments in the 2600 block of Southern Hills Boulevard.

Investigators said the fire began in a kitchen. No injuries were reported.
