Amtrak train collides with moving truck in Dallas

DALLAS - An Amtrak train collided with a large truck on the tracks at the intersection of Medical Center Drive and Harry Hines Boulevard.

The Texas Eagle train was en route from Chicago to San Antonio when it hit the vehicle, spreading debris and materials across the intersection.

There were no injuries to passengers on board the train. There was not immediate word on injuries to the occupants of the truck.

The Amtrak train was delayed for at least an hour-and-a-half as accident investigators cleared the scene.

According to a DART spokesman, a TRE train arrived at Union Station 23 minutes late due to the Amtrak accident. No DART or TRE trains were involved in the collision.
