DALLAS — Three men were able to pull a woman to safety after they spotted a fire at a home where one person was found dead Thursday morning in Dallas.
According to Jason Evans, a spokesman with Dallas Fire-Rescue, a man spotted smoke billowing from the home as he walked to a nearby recreation center in the 6400 block of Elam Rd. At about 9:40 a.m., the man called 911 and joined two others in a search for survivors inside the wood-framed home.
Evans said the men were able to pull a woman to safety, but were unable to help a man trapped inside. Firefighters also attempted to reach the man to no avail.
Investigators with Dallas Fire-Rescue are investigating the cause of the fire.
The cause of death of the man found inside the home will be determined by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office.
