On Saturday night, Fort Worth finished up its latest round of ground spraying to control the mosquitoes that transmit the West Nile virus.

On Sunday night, for the first time, Mansfield will conduct ground spraying operations.

Denton County cities have until Tuesday to opt in for an aerial spraying program after officials there declared a health emergency last week.

So far, only Pilot Point and Flower Mound have signed up to be included; Providence Village and Shady Shores voted "no." The Town Council in Little Elm met to discuss the matter, but reached no conclusion.

We should get new numbers Monday on the number of West Nile cases in North Texas. As of Friday, Dallas County still had the highest number at 288 cases; Tarrant County reported 231; Denton County had 119 and Collin County had 45 cases.
