Gas well worker killed in accident near Azle

AZLE — A worker at an XTO Energy natural gas well site near Eagle Mountain Lake was killed in an industrial accident Wednesday evening.

The victim was apparently struck by a tool he was using and then toppled from 160-foot tower, seriously injured.

He was secured by a safety harness and left dangling from the tower.

By the time rescue teams could get him to the ground, the man was dead.

The Occpational Safety and Health Administration and the Texas Railroad Commission were notified about the fatal incident.
