WAXAHACHIE — Planning a wedding requires great detail, time and manpower.
So imagine having to throw it all together in one week because your wedding planner closed up shop.
For Erin Bullard, it's been that kind of crazy week.
She gets married on Saturday, but she says her wedding planner closed up shop, kept her money, and took off.
"I was in shock, complete shock. I can't believe this is happening to me," Bullard said. "As soon as I got in my car, I just bawled, tons of emotions."
From flowers, to decorations, jewelry — you name it — Cha Cha Events wedding planner Leza Chandler of Corpus Christi had been in charge.
Now it's a former Cha Cha Events employee helping Bullard pull it together in time.
"I have filed charges, called the Corpus Christi police," Bullard said.
And she's not alone. Bullard said other brides may not yet realize that Cha Cha Events has shut down.
But this bride-to-be says total strangers have come together, offering services to make her wedding a fairy tale.
"I think God has turned this into good, and it will be better than I imagined," Bullard said.
And that makes the anticipation for the big day on Saturday even greater.
"I think it's going to be more memorable. I think it's going to be one more thing we get through together," Bullard said — for better or for worse.
While Erin Bullard says she forgives her wedding planner, she won't soon forget the experience.
