WFAA-TV was honored with a National News and Documentary Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at a ceremony held Monday night in New York.
Executive Producer Valerie Evans, Producer Eric Valadez and Chief Director Art MacLaren were honored for their work during storm coverage in September 2010.
WFAA’s winning piece, "A Day of Weather," featured continuing coverage of tornadoes that crisscrossed North Texas. WFAA captured a tornado live is moved just southwest of downtown Dallas.
“We are always most proud when we are recognized by our peers,” said Peter L. Diaz, Belo’s president/Media Operations. “This award honors the effort of an entire station and its commitment to providing the community with vital severe weather information.”
