BLUE MOUND — A night celebrating a friend's birthday ended in tragedy early Saturday morning when four young people were killed in a horrific crash on a rural road in Wise County.

On Sunday evening, more than 200 family and friends came together to remember one of the young men who died, Kevin Brickey.

The 19-year-old graduated from Saginaw High School this past school year. Brickey died along with 19-year-old Vincent Williams and 19-year-old Vincent Lagrassa. The name of the fourth victim has not been released.

They were all in a Mustang that was traveling in the wrong direction on FM 703 near Decatur. State troopers said their car was trying to illegally pass another vehicle when it crashed head-on into a pickup truck.

For Brickey's friends, Sunday's vigil was about sending a message to his family.

"His family, they are looking at us like the friends that are going to be strong," said Trisha Largent. "That's what we are all here for."

The driver of the Mustang, 17-year-old Danny Nalley, remained hospitalized Sunday in critical condition.

Friends and family are holding a vigil for all the young men on Monday at Saginaw High School.
