Crowley police have arrested a second adult in connecton with the death of 12-year-old Octavia Watkins, who fell while riding on the trunk of a sedan last month.

Detectives said after completing their investigation that the dead girl's mother, Yasmin Lewis, shares  responsibility for Octavia's death with Kisha Young, who was driving the vehicle.

Three other youngsters were injured in the June 17 incident after Lewis and Young instructed six children — who had just been swimming at the community pool — to ride on top of the car because their bathing suits were wet.

Yasmin Lewis was charged with reckless injury to a child causing serious bodily injury, a second degree felony. She was freed after posting a $15,000 bond, and police said the case has been turned over to the Tarrant County district attorney.

Young has already been charged with driving under the influence.
