DALLAS — UT Southwestern Medical Center announced late Wednesday afternoon that it is cutting about 350 staff positions.

About 250 of those jobs are currently vacant.

The 105 staff members who will lose their jobs have been notified.

The layoffs are a result of the just-passed state budget. UT Southwestern lost $31 million a year in state funding.

Salaries for associate deans and higher have been frozen.
