FORT WORTH -- Two firefighters were injured in a Fort Worth house fire Friday morning.

The fire broke out in the attic and garage of a home in the 7500 block of Woodfield Road.

Jimmy Gray, 44, and Dallas Murr, 39, both veteran firefighters, were fighting flames when some of the roof and ceiling collapsed on them in the kitchen.

They were able to free themselves and were treated at a nearby hospital. The Fort Worth Fire Department says both men will come back to work on their next shifts.

Meanwhile crews fought the fire and learned that the family of five who live inside were woken up by a neighbor knocking on their door to warn them about the fire.

The woman who answered the door didn't believe the neighbor at first, since there was no evidence of the fire inside at that time.

The entire family got out of the house unharmed. Half of the roof was burned off, and the garage was destroyed.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
