Two motorists were killed Monday afternoon in a fiery three-vehicle crash on Interstate 45.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the fatal accident involving two vehicles shut down the southbound lanes of the freeway between Ennis and Corsicana near the town of Rice.
It happened when an 18-wheeler was struck from behind by a pickup truck. Another big truck then rammed the back of the pickup, killing the two people in that vehicle.
The southbound lanes of I-45 were closed for hours during the cleanup and investigation.
