ARLINGTON — Three Fort Worth teenagers were killed early Saturday morning when their BMW went out of control and crashed into a utility pole.

Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard said the accident happened at 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of Green Oaks Boulevard and Arkansas Lane.

Witnesses told investigators that they saw the victims' vehicle traveling northbound on Green Oaks when the driver lost control, crossed the southbound lanes, struck the power pole and burst into flames.

One person was able to get out of the burning car and was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. His name was not available.

Arlington firefighters pulled three others from the wreckage. They were taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, where they later died.

Arlington police identified the dead as:

  • Jonathan Charles Lavering, 19, the driver
  • Jacob Ramos, 17, a rear seat passenger
  • Colton Gage Goodman, 18, a front seat passenger

Richard said the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
