DALLAS - A Dallas resident led police on a chase that began in Rockwall during a routine traffic stop and ended with officers using a Taser on the suspect in downtown Dallas, police said.
A Rockwall officer first attempted to pull over the driver on suspicion of driving while intoxicated early Monday morning. However, the driver fled the scene, and Dallas police and sheriff deputies joined in on the chase from air and ground.
Spikes were put out by authorities and the driver was stopped on Interstate 30 near Hotel Street. Deputies used a Taser in the arrest.
Authorities said drugs were found in the suspect's car and he was driving while under the influence.
