FORT WORTH -- A suspect was shot and killed in an altercation with officers with the Northeast division of the Tarrant County Narcotics Unit Friday night, a Fort Worth Police Department captain confirmed.

The unit was serving a warrant around 8:45 p.m. in the 4000 block of Tulip Tree Dr. when the shooting was reported.

Six officers were present to serve the warrant. When they breached the door of the home, a man inside had a shotgun in his hand and pointed it at the officers.

An officer from Euless fired one shot at the man, striking him in the chest. He died at the scene.

The suspect's name was not released, but police said he was 30 years old.

Four other people who were inside that home were taken into custody, though it was unclear at this time if they were arrested. The Fort Worth Police Department is handling the criminal investigation.
