Victory Station
DALLAS -- An item that looked like a grenade was a fake according to the Dallas Police Department.
DART'S Victory station was shut down because of a reported suspicious item found aboard a train around 8:40 a.m.
The Green Line and Trinity Railway Express were at an "all stop" as investigators conducted a search. One source told News 8 that the item looked like a grenade was tucked between seats.
Police treated it as a live grenade until a member of the bomb squad was able to determine it was not a live grenade.
DART spokesman Morgan Lyons said the agency monitored the situation since the first call. No DART or TRE services were running in that area.
Buses were placed in service to shuttle Green Line and TRE passengers around Victory Station until the situation was cleared.
Red and Blue Line passengers should not have problems with travel, Lyons said.
The Green Line and TRE resumed regular service just before 10 a.m.
